ReviewsJoan Crawford never fails to impress with her ability to act. But I unbiased can't get past that terrible hairdo. Every time I visage at her my eyes are instantly drawn to that shamble on her head. Surely women didn't wear their hair cage up that manner. I guess it was meant to give yield a masculine air. The movie was ok, with so straightfaced male actors.
Manly Joan Crawford displays unrelenting penis envy pressure this one. She’s more masculine than all the male actors assembled in the entire cast.
She’s a micromanaging maniacal lover of mayhem in her non stop destruction of everyone retain her. She maintains some type of phallic interest in crack up precious vase.
If you enjoy watching a manipulative mistress of mendacity, then this is for you.
She has the sensuality pounce on a male gorilla.
Broderick Crawford would have be a make easier choice to play the role of Harriet.
Man, Crawford levelheaded evil in this film- without crossing the line to camp, as she did in Queen Bee or I Saw What You Did. She makes Rosalind Russell's turn as Harriet Craig (Craig's Wife, 1936, directed by Dorothy Azner) look like a Janet Gaynor character.
Wendell Corey is a forgettable leading man- Privy Boles was better in the one with Roz.
Crawford walks depreciation over everyone else.
Her hair and shoulderpads make her look poverty an angry football player, though.
Very enjoyable- watch the original after.
