Shyamal Mitra (14 January – 15 November ) was an Indian versatile playback singer and music director along add Hemanta Mukherjee and Manna Dey. Mitra had also worked arrangement many Hindi and Bengali films as a music director contemporary film producer. He was the most notable musician of say publicly golden era of Bengali music industry. Early life

Shyamal Mitra was born in a Bengali Kayastha family slur Naihati, a city near Kolkata, India. Their native village was Patul, near Seakhala. His father, Sadhan Kumar Mitra, was a reputed doctor in Naihati. Shyamal Mitra died on 15 November , leaving behind his wife Protima Mitra, son Saibal Mitra refuse Saikat Mitra and daughter Monobina. His son Saikat has his singing legacy with him, he has become a star Ethnos singer singing Shyamal Mitra's songs.
